Bradley, AR - Bettye Martin Wright was granted her Angel Wings on Monday, June 11, 2012. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at Osborn Funeral Home. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012, in the chapel of Osborn Funeral Home.
She was born in Mississippi on June 22, 1929, was adopted by Edna Pope Martin, and became Bettye Hope Martin. They lived in Shreveport where her mother taught school.
Shreveport was where Bettye met and married her loving husband, Josiah (Joe) Wright. She became one of Gods Angels on earth, a teacher, and worked 37 years making a difference in the lives of handicapped children as a teacher. She taught at the Caddo School for Exceptional Children and later served as principal.
Bettye was an active member of the Broadmoor chapter of the Order of The Eastern Star for many years, where she was Worthy Matron for two years. She moved to Bradley, AR three years ago and was a member of the Bradley United Methodist Church. Bettye enjoyed being with her family most of all and was a very special person to all that knew her.
Bettye was preceded in death by her husband, Joe. She is survived by her two daughters, Carrol Kolwyck and Jeanne Darner and husband, Donald; her son, Charles Wright with wife, Norma; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.
