Services for Mr. Reece Chambers, 83, of Jonesville, Texas, will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at The Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral Home in Marshall with Rev. Joe Bob Alexander and Dr. Kenny Joyner officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Waskom. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Mr. Chambers passed away at 12:30 AM, Saturday, November 3, 2012, at the Heritage House in Marshall, Texas. He was born March 26, 1929, to Charlie Furrh Chambers and Mary Pauline Chambers in Greenwood, Louisiana. This is also where he received his education.
Mr. Chambers worked and retired from Arkla Gas after 37 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwood, Louisiana.
He is survived by three daughters, Shelia Hamby and Gary Hamby of Jonesville, Texas, Cynthia Lynn and Douglas Davis of Waskom, Texas, and Karen Darlene and Wright Whitlow of Roxboro, North Carolina; one granddaughter; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson; two nieces, Paula Vassell, and Renae Holbert; one nephew, Robbie Chambers, all of Jonesville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Chambers; his parents; two brothers, Rudolph and James Chambers; and the mother of his daughters, Willie Mae Kenly.
Pallbearers will be Billy Johnson, Robbie Chambers, John Miller, Elic Camp, Robert Vassal, and Wright Whitlow.
The family would also like to especially thank the Vaughn Family and the members of the Greenwood Baptist Church and the many friends of the family for the love they showed their father and also the caregivers of the Heritage House for the great care and love they showed Mr. Chambers.
