Elizabeth Dennis "Liz" Forbis

Elizabeth Dennis "Liz" Forbis, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in Longview. She was born April 4, 1919 in Magnolia, Arkansas to Dan and Pauline Couch Dennis, both preceded her in death.

Liz grew up in Magnolia where she finished high school and attended South Arkansas University. After finishing college, she went to Shreveport, Louisiana and went to work in sales and merchandising. While working in Shreveport, she met Troy Forbis. They married on January 12, 1952 in Shreveport and celebrated 51 wonderful years of marriage before Troy died in 2003.

In 1974, Troy was transferred to Longview, Texas. They had been in Longview for one month when they joined Summerfield United Methodist Church, which is still their home church. They always enjoyed going to American Legion and having much fun with their friends. Also, they always enjoyed their friends and extended family on Marguerite Dr. and all the fun they had together.

Liz had two brothers, couch Dennis of Magnolia, AR and Gene Dennis of Shreveport and both preceded her in death. She is survived by one sister, Doris Parkinson of Coppell, TX; sister-in-law, Sylvia Dennis of Shreveport, LA.; nieces and nephews. Terry and Peggy Reagan of Grand Terrace, CA, Rebecca and Ken Boatman of Coppell, TX, Gwenette and Russ Jacobson of Magnolia, AR, Tama and Robert Martin of Cabot, AR, Bill and Dennis Smith of Shreveport, LA, Dorinda and Ronnie Mothershed of Haughton, LA and Mack and Becky Dennis of Louisiana and many wonderful sweet little ones; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Dennis of Magnolia, AR preceded her in death.

Survivors included in Troy's wonderful family include nieces and nephews, Bill and Carolyn Forbis of Calhoun, LA, Myra and Jim Brown of Lake Palestine, Nelda and David Baldwin of McKinney, TX, Guy and Deborah Forbis of Whitehouse, TX; and many great nieces and nephews.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Memory Park in Longview with the Reverend Christopher Charles officiating. In honoring Liz's request, cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. A memorial guestbook may be signed at www.raderfh.com.
