Ruby Coco Obituary
SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services for Mrs. Ruby Merle Festervand Coco, 90, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012, at Centuries Memorial Park, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, LA.
Mrs. Coco was born on August 12, 1922, in Vivian, LA and passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. She served her country during WWII as a U.S. Navy Wave and was later a sales person for Sears and Palais Royal.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, A.D. and Beulah Festervand; husband, Craig Coco; sisters, Catherine Blomquist and Peggy Melancon. She is survived by her sister, Artie Stone; children, Jim Coco and wife, Rebecca of Spring, TX, Kathy Witt and husband, Don of Kingwood, TX, Mike Coco of Panola, TX, and Billy Coco and wife, Debbie of Shreveport; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Sister in Arms, Ruby Merle Festervan Coco. To her family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Ruby. And to Ruby it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank her for her dedicated and selfless service she rendered to her country during WW-II while serving as a WAVE in the U. S. Navy. Ruby, you are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
