BENTON, LA - Donald Evins Denman, 65, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Dec 6, 2012 after losing his battle with cancer. Visitation will be held on Mon, Dec 10 at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City from 5-7pm. Services will be held at the same location Tuesday Dec 11 at 11:30am and will be officiated by Dan Coffell. Interment will follow at the Rose-Neath Cemetery on Swan Lake Road, Bossier City.
Don was born in Charleston, MS to Duke and Eunice Denman on Jan 25, 1947. He was raised in Memphis, TN and graduated from Overton High School. He attended Memphis State University. He and his family moved to Bossier City in 1988. He worked in the finance business for 45 years and was a member of the Louisiana Independent Finance Association. He was a member of Airline Drive Church of Christ and a member of the Promise Keepers.
Don is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Calhoun Denman of Benton, LA, and his mother, Eunice Powers Denman of Charleston, MS. He is survived by his sons Derek Evins Denman (Marnie), Blake Edward Denman (Tobi) both of Memphis, TN, and his daughter Hillary Lynn Denman of Benton, LA. He is also survived by his sister, Rebecca Denman Johns, his nieces Jessica and Megan and his grandchildren Evin, Chloe, Weber, Jameson and Reece.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Charles Hargon and the chemo lab staff at the Willis Knighton Cancer Center for the treatment he received over the past 4 years. A special thanks to Julie Brown and Chaplin Casey of Willis Knighton Hospice for all the love and care they have provided over the past few months.
Don will be greatly missed by all of those he has left behind, but we rejoice in knowing that he has been reunited with his Lord and his family.
