Mary Bob Swain Murray
Greenwood, LA- Funeral services for Mary Bob Swain Murray, 82, will be held at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Thursday, January 10, 2013 at10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Leonard Nichols assisted by Rev. Harry Forester. Interment will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Mary's family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mary was born July 5, 1930 in Minerva, TX to Robert and Robbie Swain. She passed away January 2, 2013 in Boynton Beach, FL after a brief illness. She graduated from LSU. She was a member of Mangum Memorial United Methodist Church and attended New Covenant Baptist Church in Waskom, TX. Mary was a member of Toastmaster International and Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. She was a volunteer for 4-H and recipient of the Boy Scouts Silver Beaver Award.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Mathew Murray; and great-grandson, Caleb G. Franklin. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles "Scooter" Murray and wife, Candice, Debra Murray Roach and husband, Louis, Brett Murray and wife, Kathy, Melanee Murray Blankstein and husband, Alan, Leslie Murray and wife, Yolanda, Melinda Murray Nichols and husband, Leonard, and Melissa Murray Jones and fiancé, Dave Mathers; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Memorials may be made to Young Singers of Palm Beaches, Boy Scouts of America or the donor's choice.
