Clayton Burch Watson Jr.

Shreveport, LA - Clayton Burch Watson Jr., 63, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 6, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 6, 1949, he was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Clayton Watson, and mother-in-law, Audrey Ward. He is survived by his wife Charlotte; daughter Ginny Watson Ramey and her son Aidan; and son Jeb Buddecke and wife Dedra and their children Ali and Eric. Clayton is also survived by his sister Candy and husband Tommy Byrne; father-in-law Andy Ward; and brother-in-law Jerry Shaw; step-mother Betty Watson; and step-sisters: Karen Lanius, and Sandra Githens and her husband Rick; step-brother Rick Hohlt; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Osborn Funeral Home with Reverend Tracy Graham of Norris Ferry Community Church, officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Osborn Funeral home. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park.

Clayton lived a full and productive life. He was very devoted to his family, his friends and the LSU Tigers. He was known by many names: Ears, Watty, Clatey, Watco, Pops, and Dad. He was a loving and caring person with no task being too large or too small to do for others. A favorite day for Clayton would be playing a round of golf or fishing with friends. Clayton attended C.E. Byrd High School and Northeast Louisiana University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He worked in oil field tubulars for 40 years, owning Superior Pipe & Tube for the last 20 years.

Honoring Clayton as pallbearers are Jim Dowling, Bill Hancock, Shelby Houston, Les Kirk, Chuck Laborde, Pat Loftus, Jimmy Patton and John Pou. Special thanks are extended to Amedisys Hospice, Dr. Chad Hargon, Dr. Anil Nanda, Dr. James Jackson, and Dr. Michael Durci. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be made to Christus Sutton Children's Medical Center, 1 Saint Mary Place, Shreveport, LA 71101, or Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 510 St Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
