BENTON, LA - Services to honor the life of Mr. Roy L. Colvin will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Central Assembly of God Church in Haughton officiated by Pastor Sam Moses. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday evening, January 9, 2013, between the hours of 6-9p.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Mr. Colvin was born December 20, 1943, in Junction City, AR and passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013. He was a member of World Fellowship Ministry and The Living Word Family Church. Roy was also a retiree of Bossier City Fire Dept. , Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office, and owner and operator of B & D Cleaning. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and good western novels, but his biggest priority in life was providing for his family.
Roy is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Beck Colvin; father, Roy L. McDonald, Sr. and step-father, Richard Crosby Colvin. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Victoria M. Watson Colvin; son, Bryan Colvin and wife, Tonya; daughters, Deena Colvin Schafer and husband, Derrick, and Megan Colvin; grandchildren, Julia Schafer, Natalie Schafer, Michael Schafer, Abigail Colvin, and Aiden Colvin; and brothers, Bobby McDonald and wife, Judy, and Gordon McDonald and wife, Dora; and several nieces and nephews.
Honoring Mr. Colvin as pallbearers are Taylor Whitaker, Jonathan Corn, Derrick Schafer, Mark Preddy, Sr., Mark Preddy, Jr., Joe Young, and Bobby Christ.
