Esther Papa Russo

Shreveport, LA - Esther Russo, passed away on January 12, 2012, after a brief illness. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Concelebrants will be Reverend Charles Glorioso and Monsignor Earl V. Provenza, VF. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. followed by a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, at Osborn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave.

Mrs. Russo was born on August 8, 1925, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a 1942 graduate of Fairpark High School. She met her only love, Joe, during WWII and lived in Shreveport all of her life. They were in the grocery business most of their lives.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Russo; her brother, Peter Papa; her sister, Mary Matassa; and her parents, Tony and Rosa Papa. She is survived by her daughters, Carmen Feinberg and husband, Richard, of Shreveport, Rosanne Wells, of Bossier City, Cathy LaSource and husband, Mike, of Fairhope, Alabama; six grandchildren, Ron Kilgarlin and wife, Shawn, Lisa Ferguson and husband, Shane, Scott Wells and wife, Tiffiny, Drew Wells, Jason LaSource and wife, Sarah and Casey LaSource; eight great-grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law, Tootsie Papa.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearer will be a special nephew, Tony Papa.

Her children would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Glen for their loving and devoted care and also Dr. Jim Cotter, Dr. Randy Davis and Pam Patton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to or Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

She will be with us forever…in the way we live and the way we love.
