Johnie went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, February 9, 2013. She was a wonderful Christian lady who truly exhibited the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control.

Johnie was born on May 7, 1925 in Quitman, Louisiana to parents John T. Bryan and Stella Knight Bryan. Johnie was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle R. Stephens, sisters, Mildred Dale and husband, H.D. "Buddy" Dale, Nellie Miller and husband, John D. Miller. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Elizabeth D. Stephens of Shreveport, LA, Cynthia S. Wesley and husband, John Wesley of Texarkana, TX; grandson, John Andrew Wesley of New York, NY; great-nephew, Jerry D. Walters of Shreveport, LA; and nieces, Martha Miller and Patsi Benson of Newport News, VA. Johnie is also survived by her special and loving caregiver, Chancey Case.

Honoring Johnie as pallbearers will be John Wesley, John Andrew Wesley, Stephen Wesley, Jerry Walters, and Jerry Antee.

The family suggests that memorials may be made in Johnie's name to charity of donor's choice.
