Ray Walker

KEITHVILLE, LA- Funeral services for Ray Walker, 73, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. John Harp and Ray's nephew, Rev. Joe Walker. Interment will follow in Scholar Cemetery in Joaquin, TX at 12 noon. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, February 19, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ray was born on February 18, 1939 in Caddo, OK and passed away on February 17, 2013 from a sudden illness. He was a resident of Keithville, a retired machinist from Reilly Beard, a member of Brookwood Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Mt. Vernon Masonic Lodge # 83.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kinley and Vernice Walker; sister, Geneva Walker Horn and brother, Marvin Glenn Walker. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 54 years, Ione Mattison Walker; daughters: Linda Young and husband, Alan, Susan Amaya and husband Jerry and Kathleen Foshee and husband, John; grandchildren: Megan Young, Sydney Young and Hunter Foshee; sisters: Mary Hutto and Connie Straus; brother: Sonny Walker.

Honoring Ray as pallbearers will be his nephews, James Walker, David Straus, Tommy Boyett, David Cunningham Jeremy Boyett and Justin Boyett.
