Johnnie W. Adams

Shreveport, LA - Mr. Johnnie W. Adams passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, March 16, at Osborn Funeral Home. Services celebrating his life will follow at 1:00 the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home with Rev. Trey Lewis, officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery.

Johnnie was born in Mississippi and was a lifelong resident of Shreveport. He was active in his community and church. He retired from Barksdale Air Force Base after 45 years of civil service. He had been a volunteer on the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Posse. He served as Grand Marshal in the Grand Lodge of LA IOOF's. Johnnie was a member of Kingston Road Baptist Church. He served in WWII and was a resident of Northwest Louisiana War Veteran Home where he peacefully passed away.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Anderson Adams, his parents, and three brothers. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Ray Adams, of Shreveport; two brothers, Ray Adams, of San Antonio, TX and Joe L. Adams of W. Monroe, LA; three sisters, Bobbie Grace Navo, of Jefferson, LA, Joan Wardell Campbell, of Sulphur, LA and Ethel Haik of W. Monroe, LA; and a special niece, Elaine Hebert and husband, Ben, of Haughton, LA.

The deacons of Kingston Road Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Johnnie believed in investing in people as God placed them in his path. His wish is for others to "pass it forward". In lieu of flowers, give a gift to someone in your path in his memory.
