Delmar P. Griffin

SHREVEPORT, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of Delmar Patrick Griffin, 80, will be held Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Mary of the Pines Church, with Father Thomas John officiating. The family will receive friends at visitation which begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at 1 p.m. in Keithville, LA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Merle. Anticipating his heavenly arrival is his grandson Michael Tyler Griffin. He left his left his earthly home on March 14, 2013 to be with the Lord, whom he served lovingly throughout his life.

Delmar was born on July 6, 1932 in Mankato, Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Navy and was an air traffic controller for 34 years. He has a lifelong love for horses and raised, trained and showed horses for many years.

He is survived by his devoted, loving wife Retha Griffin, son, Stephen and wife Tammy and son Michael Griffin, daughter, Teresa Bain and her husband Jerry and Janet Reeves and husband Frank. He loved his stepchildren who were devoted to him: LaNeita El-Arab, Charlene Moore, Gloria Wray, Hilton Thompson and Ann LeBlanc. He enjoyed 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grand-daughters.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the loving care and dedication of Dr. Bob Massingill and his staff.
