Leon A. Moore

Oil City, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of Leon A. Moore, age 82 will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Vivian, LA with Rev. Bill Keith officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Oil City, LA. The family will have a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Moore was born on September 18, 1930 in Hosston, LA to Haden and Myrtle Woods Moore and passed away on April 1, 2013 at his residence at a lengthy illness. He had been as resident of Oil City for the past 28 years, was a pumper for J. B. Weld Service, veteran of the U.S. Army, honorary LA State Senator, member of Ferry Lake Baptist Church in Oil City and a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce A. (Duke) Moore, parents, Haden and Myrtle Moore, brothers, William Moore, Eugene Moore, George Moore, Carl Moore, Odell Moore, and sister, Myrtle Sartor. He is survived by his sons, Jeff Moore, Steven Moore, Scott Moore, and Brian Moore, grandchildren, Brandon Moore, Lyndi Packett, Kamarie Childs, Nikki Kennedy, Kyle Moore, Kourtney Moore, Chris and Bergundie Pritchett, Cody and Haden Moore, Natlie Sirmons, Heather Moore, Tiffany Moore and numerous great-grandchildren. Mr. Moore is also survived by his siblings, Eldredge Moore, James Moore, Lucille French, Iva Todd, Pearl Stockfish, Louise Todd and Helen Johnson.

Honoring Mr. Moore as pallbearers will be Brandon Moore, Kirk Puckett, Cody Moore, Haden Moore, Kyle Moore, Josh Kennedy, Lex Childs and Chris Pritchett. Honorary pallbearer for Mr. Moore will be Sid Westmoreland.
