Graveside services for Mr. Charles Grady Tingle will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard, LA with Bro. John Nations officiating.

Mr. Tingle was born June 01, 1925 in Rochelle, LA to Albert Eugene and Margaret Gelvin Tingle and passed away on May 9, 2013 at The Grace Home. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served as a signalman on the Attack Transport USS Carteret, earning two battle stars from the invasions of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1946. In business, he was employed by the First National Bank of Shreveport, retiring in 1990 as Senior Vice-President of Consumer Lending. His civic activities included; President of Shreveport Civitan Club, President of Blanchard Kiwanis Club, President of Consumer Credit Grantors Club of Shreveport, Chairman of Board of Credit Bureau of Greater Shreveport, member of Louisiana Higher Education Assistance Commission, and Chairman of Board of Trustees of First Baptist Church School.

Mr. Tingle is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Margaret Tingle, brother, Henry Gelvin Tingle, sisters, Helen Tingle Love, Doris Tingle Walker, and Emma Lou Tingle King. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Regina Ladner Tingle of Shreveport, LA, son, Charles Christopher Tingle and wife, Candace Michelle Tingle of Haughton, LA and daughter Julie Ann Tingle of Shreveport, LA. Mr. Tingle is also survived by his grandchildren David Cole Johnson, Lori Elizabeth Johnson, Christopher Hudson Tingle and Samantha Scout Tingle and two great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Jackie Lewis, friend and care giver.
