BENTON, LA - Funeral services for Bobbie Burge (Reeve) Weaver, 80, of Benton will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Rose-Neath in Bossier City. The Rev. Gerald Palmer of Doyline and the Rev. Lee Nunley of Doyline will officiate. Interment will follow at Point Chapel Assembly of God Cemetery in Doyline under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 on Friday, May 10 at the funeral home.
Bobbie was raised in Doyline, and then upon marriage raised her family in Minden; she then spent her last 20 years in Benton with her second husband, Dale Weaver. She died in Rowlett, TX where she had lived for the past two months to be near her two sons and their families.
Bobbie was first and foremost a homemaker. She loved to cook meals with desserts being her specialty. She often shared these creations with family and friends. She loved to grow flowers and was known for the beautiful azaleas surrounding her home. She worked for many years for Bell Systems as a telephone operator and later worked for West Enterprises in Minden. She was a member of Red River Baptist Church and dearly loved her ladies Sunday School class. Bobbie was known for her sweet spirit and unwavering faith and love for her Lord Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, "Bodie" Lorrell Reeve and her second husband, Dale Weaver; her father, Robert Lee Burge; her mother, Ella Louise Burge; one sister, Lela Ferne White; one brother, James Robert Burge.
She is survived by her two sons and their families, Steven "Bubba" Reeve and wife, Connie of Rowlett, TX; Eddie Lorrell Reeve and wife, Deanna of Mesquite, TX. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Jeremy Reeve, Patrick Reeve, Brian Reeve, and Lisa Bass. She has six great-grandchildren, Cameron Reeve, Christian Reeve, Collin, Allison, and Kaitlyn Bass and Brent Lindsey. She is also survived by sisters, Elouise "Bebe" Whitlock, Linda "Tater" Montgomery and husband, Hal; brother, Leon "Bo" Burge and wife, Peggy and a host of nieces and nephews. She dearly loves her family and the special celebrations they had each year.
Honoring Bobbie as pallbearers will be Larry Frank White, Thomas Robert Burge, Bradley Eugene Bates, Gregory Scott Spears, Marcus Alan Burge and Michael James Burge.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to her caregiver and neighbor in Benton, Jean Sumerall. She was so helpful and kind to Bobbie during the past two years.
The family requests that donations be made to the Point Chapel Cemetery Fund or the American Rose Society-Garden's Care Fund.
