GIBSLAND, LA - Edna Harper Ridgell, 73, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2013 in her home surrounded by her daughter Tammie and sister Bettye McCauley. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Springville United Baptist Church in Gibsland, Louisiana.
Edna was born in Gibsland, Louisiana on November 24, 1939. She received her education from Coleman High School - Gibsland, Louisiana, Grambling State University - Grambling, Louisiana and Cal State Dominquez Hills University - Los Angeles, California. Edna was employed for many years by Max Factor, McDonald Douglas Aircraft, and retired as a Planner in the Engineering Department. She received many awards for her work as a Planner in manufacturing of the C-17 Cargo Plane.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents OB and Doris Harper, brothers Herman and OB Jr., and sister Lois. She leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted daughter Tammie Ridgell of Richmond, California, two sisters Christeen (Jerry) Clark of Taylor, Louisiana and Bettye Daniels McCauley of Shreveport, Louisiana, and a host of relatives and friends.
