SHREVEPORT, LA - Robert Leonard, 62, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, October 7, 2013. Memorial services celebrating the life of Mr. Leonard will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Chapel in Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Gerald Pruett. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until service time.
Robert was born on June 3, 1951 to Robert William Joseph and Lois Virgin Leonard. Robert served in the Air Force for six years, and was a valued independent and hardworking man. Robert was also a customer representative for years. He lived in several states throughout his life including Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and New York. He was a loving, devoted husband, and wonderful father. He always provided for his family and was a supporter for all. Robert loved the water, fishing, music, movies, and was a formidable monopoly/ trivia opponent. He enjoyed history, New Orleans, LA (his hometown), and the Saints. He was so proud of his three grandchildren and loved to be called "Pop." A great sport about being surrounded by women for the majority of his life living in the house with all "girls," he was overjoyed to have his first grandson. Robert had the most beautiful singing voice. He loved a good laugh and had a great sense of humor, most importantly, he was loved and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Gladys Leonard of Shreveport, LA; mother, Lois Virgin Leonard Morrow of Shreveport, LA; daughters, Dena Pruett and husband, Scott of Shreveport, LA, Brandy Bankston and husband, Eddie of Bossier City, LA; sister, Cheryl Johnson and husband, Jay of Ponchatoula, LA; grandchildren, Cammie Bankston, Kayeleigh Bankston, and Joseph Bankston.
