Mrs. Lillie Johnson Stringer
SHREVEPORT, LA - Lillie P. Johnson Stringer was born on December 27, 1934 to Rayfield and Bonnie Smith Johnson in New Brockton, AL. She walked up the highway to Heaven on November 1, 2013. Lillie grew up in Tucson, AZ and graduated from Tucson Public Schools. She became a Christian at age sixteen and a member of A Mountain Church of God in Tucson. In 1957, she met Robert L. Stringer, and on December 15 of that year, they married; to this union were born six children.
Lillie Stringer served as the Louisiana State President of the Women of the Church of God (WCG), National Vice President, National Parliamentarian, and Regional Coordinator of the WCG. She later became a published author of "Burnt Barley…Spared Blessing."
Lillie was preceded in death by her mother, a brother, Willie Goyens, and a son, Robert Byron Stringer. She leaves to cherish her memory: her faithful and loving husband of 55 years, Dr. Robert L. Stringer; five children: Lisa Walker (Mark), Baltimore, MD; Mark (Shelley), McKinney, TX; Lorna Rawls (Edward), Damian (Stacey), and Kimberly, Shreveport, LA; seven grandchildren: Kambrienne, Katilynn, Kristian, Bryson, Braylon, Shelby, and Sydney; and two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Arleta Johnson of Dover, DE and Reola Hendrix of Tucson, AZ; a brother, Archie Johnson (Mary) of Tucson, AZ; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation is November 8, 11:00 - 7:00, at New Covenant Church of God, 4001 Pines Road. Service is November 9, 11:00 am, at Oakmont Church of God, 5925 W. 70th St., Shreveport.
