John K. McGuire

PRINCETON, LA- Funeral service celebrating the life of John K. McGuire, 84, will be held 12 noon Monday, November 25, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel with Pastor Raymond Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA. Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday November 24, 2013 at the funeral home.

John was born on November 23, 1928 in Bloomington, IL and passed away on November 19, 2013 in Shreveport, LA. He was a resident of Princeton and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a Car Hauler and Truck Driver for many years. He was also a Dirt Track Car Racer at Indianapolis, Boothill, Hilltop and the Shreveport State Fair Grounds Track Racing. He also enjoyed fishing and being with his family and friends. John was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Elaine Baily McGuire and son, John Kenneth McGuire, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Martin McGuire; sons, Patrick Orr McGuire and wife, Tawana, Daniel Wesley McGuire, Timothy Alexander McGuire, James Christopher McGuire and wife, LeAndra, Ronnie Woods and wife, Amee, Wayne Gray and wife, Wendy, William Woods and wife, Sherryl and Larry Woods; 26 grandchildren and one on the way; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Nowacki and Heather McGuire.
