Betty was preceded in death by both parents; brother, James "Mack" Downs; sister, Palma Downs Page; grandson, Jonathan Price; and son-in-law, David Paul Wilson. Left to cherish her precious memory is her loving husband, Leon O. Taylor; daughters: Adara Price and husband, Randy; and Beverly Wilson Ashley and husband Percy; her grandchildren, Randy Price, Jr. and wife, LaRae; Regan Price and Wife, Nhu; Allen Price; Amy Wilson Thomas and husband, Ryan; Jason P. When Betty was 17 she met Leon, the love of her life, at the old Walgreens in Downtown Shreveport where they both worked behind the soda fountain. They married six months later and started a family. Betty and Leon celebrated 63 years together this past March. They were longtime members of Trinity Heights Baptist Church. Betty was a loving wife, mother, "granny", aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Honoring Betty as pallbearers will be her grandsons.

We would like to express our gratitude to Garden Court Rehabilitation Center for their loving care and compassion for Betty and our family during her illness.

Betty's family suggests that memorials may be made in her name to Trinity Heights Baptist Church Senior/Adult Ministry Department, 3820 Old Mooringsport Road, Shreveport, LA 71107.
