John Milton Ward

Shreveport, LA - John Ward went to be with his Savior on December 20th at his home in Shreveport, LA at the age of 61. John leaves behind his wife, Kim Bounds Ward, two children Christy Hemsworth and Jonathan Ward both from Richmond, VA two step-children Breanna Nunely and Cody Crain of the Shreveport, LA and two grandchildren Asher & Gabriel Hemsworth. He also leaves behind his brother Steve Ward and wife Chris of Alpharetta, GA. John was preceded in death by his loving parents, Milton and Clara Ward of Tryon, NC. John loved his Lord and expressed that love through both his ministry and his music. John was an accomplished guitarist and traveled the country singing and playing his songs of praise. John was also an avid fisherman and TN Vols fan. His ashes will be scattered on Watauga Lake in the state he loved so much Tennessee. John was born in Elizabethton, TN in 1952 where his roots were grounded in this state. John also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews who cherished him for his good humor and counsel.

Two memorial services will be held for John. The first will be held in New Life Center, 4445 Merriweather Rd, Shreveport at 2:00 PM. on December 28th. The other will be conducted on January 4th, 3 PM at Watauga Point Campgrounds on Watauga Lake in Elizabethton, Carter County, Tn.

John's life is one that will be remembered for his Love of God, his love of music and the down to earth goodness he showed to all who knew and loved him. He will be missed by so many whose lives he touched. Well wishes and prayers have poured in for John from all over the country by those who knew and loved him.
