Harvey and Irene McClain Anders

Harvey (87) and Irene McClain Anders (79) passed away together on December 30, 2013. Combined funeral services will be held at 10 am on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Vivian, officiated by Rev. Dale Wooten. Burial will follow at Bethsaida Cemetery in Ida, LA. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 pm on Wednesday the 1st at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian.

Harvey was born April 9, 1926 to Dave Frank Anders and Eva Sprayberry Anders. He lived all of his life in the Doddridge, AR area. He worked construction and was a member of the Texarkana Pipefitter Local 237. He served as a volunteer fireman for district 8. He loved the woods and he loved feeding deer and fishing. He loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids, and he loved taking care of his wife Irene. He was preceded in death his first wife Bertha Means Anders of Ida, LA and by his brother and sister. He is survived by his 2 sons, Harvey Dean Anders and wife Michelle of Ida and Michael Alan Anders and wife Ramona of Hosston, his step daughter Renee Herren and husband James and family, his 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Irene was born December 7, 1934 in Booneville, MS to Clifford McClain and Mattie Wisdom McLain and has lived in this area for the past 40 years. She loved to quilt, sew, crochet and do needlepoint. She loved animals especially her dogs. She loved to listen to gospel music, but most of all she loved her family and her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her first husband Jack McClain of Wilmont, MS and her 3 brothers and her nephew Clarence McClain. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Brenda Patt and husband Tommy of St. Amant, LA, Linda Boykin and husband W.D of St. Amant, LA and Patricia Sherrer and friend Greg Henderson of Rolling Fork, MS and her son, Jimmy Hollings and wife Debbie of Ponotoc, MS, her 7 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Harvey and Irene were married for 33 years and were members of Rodessa Baptist Church.
