James Boddie Obituary
GREENWOOD, LA - James Henry Boddie Jr., 75, passed away February 8, 2014 and went to be with Jesus after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral service will be held at Central Assembly of God in Haughton, LA on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Andy Harris and assisted by Rev. Ken Richmond. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton, LA. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Central Assembly of God Chapel.
Jim was born in Shreveport, LA on June 6, 1938 to the late James Henry Boddie Sr. and Cora Tucker Boddie. Jim was a successful business man and owned Superior Truck and Trailer in Greenwood, LA until he retired in 2000. Not one to not work, Jim consulted for Martin Gas and owned Quality Trailer Service until his death. He was an owner of dirt track race cars and won championships in the 1980's and 1990's. He took pride in his yard and was meticulous about its upkeep. Jim loved his family, as well as his church family at Central Assembly of God, where he served his church as an usher and greeter.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, James Henry Boddie Sr.; mother, Cora Tucker Boddie, brother, Paul Boddie and sister, Francis Stewart.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 54 years, Earlene Boddie; daughters: Diana Boddie McClellan and husband Butch, Sherry Boddie, Ashley Boddie Shaul, and husband Kevin. He is also survived by his sister, Nan Stoddard; grandsons: Chris Moore and wife Jennifer, Dustin Moore and Garrett McClellan; great-grandson: Brantley Moore, and soon to be great-grandaughter; Landry Moore.
The family would like to thank the staff of Willis Knighton North and Grace Home. They would also like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Randy Bryn, Kristy Corey P.A. and Dr. Rodney Reeves.
Honoring Jim as pallbearers will be: Terry Pipes, Emmett Randolph, David Lubus, Steven Nattin, Doyle Dempsey and Lee Balentine. Honorary pallbearers will be the Faith Builders Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's honor to Central Assembly of God Building Fund or Grace Home.

Mr. Jim,
I haven't seen you in awhile, but I will never forget working for you during that summer, while I was in college. Driving all over East Texas and NW LA., delivering truck parts and brake shoes. You will be missed by many!

Earlene and family, I just found out about Jim and I am so sorry to here that he has passed. I wish I had stayed in touch with all of you but I still feel very close to you. My best memories are the camping trips that our families took together. You will be in my prayers.

We will miss Jim immensely, Earlene. Every time I look out across the street I expect to see him working on that beautiful yard. My condolences for your loss. He was a great man, and I loved him like my grandpa. He was full of knowledge, and I learned a lot from him that I will never forget. We worked together for a long time at Martin Transport. I will miss him dearly.

Another set of angel wings were finished and they were for " Jim ". Dick and I have so many wonderful memories of Jim.
