Oliver C. Sterling, Jr.

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for Oliver C. Sterling, 92, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at 9:30 a.m., prior to the service.

Oliver was a WWII veteran and a participant in the D-Day Landing, He retired from Barksdale Air Force Base after a long military career as a medic. Later, he enjoyed working on cars, gardening and fishing.

Oliver was preceded in death by his son Joseph C. Sterling and son-in-law Bill Lowery. He is survived by his wife of 73 years Dorothy Sterling, daughters Sharon Lowery and Sandra Pottmeyer and husband James, grandchildren Rebecca Lowery, Matt Werner, Steven Pottmeyer and wife Victoria and Rayna Lemoine as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Jan and the staff at Riverview Nursing Home for the care and comfort given to Mr. Sterling.
