Evelyn McCraw Obituary
Evelyn Monroe McCraw passed peacefully in the arms of her loving parents on Monday, July 11, 2016 after a brief illness due to complications from bacterial meningitis. During her six weeks with us she touched many lives and was loved by family and friends.
Evelyn is survived by her parents, Emma and Gray Hayes McCraw, III; her brothers, Gray Hayes McCraw, IV and James Fisher McCraw; maternal grandparents, Gayla and Kemerton Dean Hargrove, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Merry and Gray Hayes McCraw, Jr.; uncles, Kemerton Hargrove, Jr. and Travis McCraw; aunt, Tracy Morton; maternal great grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Byrd, Jr.; paternal great grandmother, Jerri Munn; first cousins, Chloe and Gavin Morton; and numerous other cousins.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brent Whitton, Dr. Lea Penales, and Dr. Bharti Manchandia; the nurses who cared for her during her illness, Shady Honaker, Courtney McGill, Cindy Lam, Suzie Hapgood, Leslie West, Cindy Stevens, Debbie Hermes, Jamie Arnold, Janice Kennedy, and Tracy Wilson; and the entire nursing and respiratory therapy staff at Willis Knighton South NICU.
The family would also like to thank all of the many family and friends for their thoughts, prayers, and support during Evelyn's illness, and especially for the comfort and counsel of Alston Johnson of St. Mark's Cathedral.
The family will hold a private service for Evelyn. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to Holy Angels, the Lighthouse at VOA, or a charity of donor's choice.

To Evelyn's Family... I'm deeply sorry this magnificent soul God placed on this earth was here for such a short time. But I know her impact and precious heart will always be cherished and remembered. It's so difficult trying to grasp why these fragile Angels time on earth is short. But, those that believe in the Power of Gods Healing of hearts, souls, and minds will be granted "Peace that surpasses all understanding." My Prayers are with everyone affected by Evelyn's loss of life. Travis I'm so very sorry that Evelyn's light has been dimmed, but her spirit will soar through the heavens with all of Gods Angels!! Gods Blessings on You & everyone who loves Evelyn's precious lil soul.
