McCarty, Danny - Piqua  
PIQUA — Danny R. McCarty, 70, of Piqua, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Dayton VA Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at the Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangments are in care of Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, Covington.

McGowan, James Patrick - Fort Loramie  
FORT LORAMIE — James Patrick McGowan, age 93, of Elm Street, Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes Tuesday morning, Dec. 23, 2014, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster. He was born July 12, 1921, in County Sligo, Ireland, to the late John and Mary (Kielty) McGowan. On Nov. 13, 1948, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, Jim married Luella (Romie) McGowan, and she survives. Also surviving are seven children, Terry and Dan Schoch, of Minster, Pat and Janice McGowan, of Newport, Dennis and Patti McGowan, of Minster, Mike and Paula McGowan, of Minster, Jim and Angie McGowan, of Fort Loramie, Kathy and John Amos, of Sidney, and John and Shari McGowan, of Fort Loramie; 21 grandchildren, Phil, Andy, Brian, Kevin, Chris, Joe, Jessica, Michael, David, Claire, Bridget, Pierce, Stephanie, Matt, James, Nathan, Jeremy, Jake, Alison, Erin and Marcus; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Ann Romie, of Fairborn, and Helen Council of Greenville. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Mary and Howard Lodge, Ann and Vic Martin, Bridget and Granny Filburn, and Helen Reagan. Mr. McGowan was a World War II veteran, having served in the Pacific Theatre. He had been accepted in the US Army as an Irish immigrant and achieved naturalized citizenship in 1961. Jim was employed 15 years at the Minster Machine Co. until he retired in 1986. For many years previous, he had been a brick mason employed at Albert Freytag Inc. He attended St. Michael Catholic Church and had also been a member of the Fort Loramie American Legion Post No. 355. In his leisure, Jim enjoyed gardening and yard work. He had also been an avid fan of Notre Dame football and Cincinnati Reds baseball. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with the Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2 to 7 p.m. and Monday 9 to 10 a.m. at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie. Moore, Bobbie - Sidney  
SIDNEY — Bobbie R. Moore, 80, of Sidney passed away at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at her residence. She was born on Oct. 21, 1934, in Fonde, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Henry and Sophie (Rose) Buckner. Bobbie is survived by her two children, Patricia Hawkins and Timothy Moore. Also surviving her are six grandchildren, Brian (Danelle) Douglas, Dennis (Donna) Hawkins, Randy Hawkins, Bobbi (Mike) Rockwood, Timothy Paul Moore and Lydia Neves; 15 great-grandchildren, Zoey, Riley, Montana, Samantha, Randall, Brandon, Jessica, Mason, Landon, Katelynn, Kane, Kayle, Loralie, Isabelle and Timberlee; and one great-great-grandchild, Carson, as well as many brothers and sisters. Mrs. Moore retired from Copeland Corporation after working there for many years. Bobbi loved to work in her garden and with her flowers. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Private services will be held at the family's convenience. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes Funeral Home 302 S.
