SIDNEY — Judith Ann Hoelscher, 66, of 10271 County Road 25A N, Sidney, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014, at 12:47 p.m. at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born on Oct. 29, 1947, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Alverta J. (Allen) Miller. On July 23, 1966, she married Lawrence P. "Larry" Hoelscher, who survives along with three daughters, Pamela J. (Tim) Tyler, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Shannon K. (Jason) Slusher, of Sidney, and Kelly L. (Larry) Braden, of Fostoria; eight siblings, Robert L. Miller, of Beavercreek, Donna J. Engle, of Sidney, Thomas R. (Cindy) Miller, of Sidney, Carol "Sue" (Gene) Hoelscher, of Anna, Nancy J. (Al) Wyandt, of Sidney, Kathy L. (Mike) Garman, of St. Marys, Marsha F. (Ron) Yaney, of Celina, and Linda J. Douglas, of Sidney; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Edna Henry and Karen K. North. Mrs. Hoelscher was a cook for the former Frisch's and Abby's restaurants in Sidney. She was a member of the Springcreek Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, with the Rev. David Clem and Pastor David Shepherd officiating. In keeping with Mrs. Hoelscher's wishes, her body will be cremated following the funeral service. A committal service will be held at Pearl Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. SIDNEY — Alice C. Hunter, age 97, of Sidney, Ohio, formerly of Troy, Ohio and Oakwood, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at 3:44 a.m. at Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney. She was born on Jan. 3, 1917, in Barnesville, Ohio, to the late Stephen and Betha (Cree) Clegg. Alice is survived by her daughter, Susan (Dennis) Hughes, of Sidney; son, David (Vikki) Tennant, of Troy; stepson, Paul (Suzanne) Hunter, of Michigan; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers: Robert (Mary Kay) Clegg, of Cleveland, and Glenn Clegg, of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Webb Tennant; second husband of 31 years, Edwin Hunter; stepdaughter, Martha Antonick; brother, Virgil Clegg; and sister, Frances Schafer.. Alice worked for the Troy Library as a library assistant for 8 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Alice enjoyed antiquing and photography; but most of all, she loved her children. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at Baird Funeral Home, Troy, with the Rev. Joe Pumphrey officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
