Allenbaugh, William - Sidney  
SIDNEY — William Arthur "Billy" Allenbaugh, 61, of 1710 Wapakoneta Ave., Sidney, passed away at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at Heartland of Piqua. He was born on June 23, 1953 in Sacramento, California, the son of the late Thomas Lee Allenbaugh, and Mary Ellen (Burchett) Allenbaugh, who survives in Sidney. On June 23, 1990, he was married to Ann E. Maurer, who survives along with four children, Season (Jeromy) Greiwe, Andrew (April) Allenbaugh, both of Quincy, Ohio, Thomas Walter Allenbaugh, of Columbus, Ohio, and Elizabeth Allenbaugh, of Sidney; and seven grandchildren. Billy worked for IAC in Sidney for 27 years. Prior to that he worked for the city of Sidney. He was an avid sports fan and lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Billy enjoyed camping and fishing. He also enjoyed music, going to concerts and spending time with his family and friends. Billy was a lifelong member of Pasco United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will be held Monday, March 2, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. David Brisker officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco. The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, and at the church Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Pasco United Methodist Church in memory of William Arthur Allenbaugh. Arkenberg, John - Fort Loramie  
FORT LORAMIE — John Raymond Arkenberg, age 54, of Eastview Drive, Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes early Sunday morning, Feb. 22, 2015, at his parents' winter residence in Okeechobee, Florida. He was born Nov. 25, 1960, in Sidney, Ohio, to Bernard and Theresa (Richard) Arkenberg and they survive. Also surviving are four siblings, Linda and Jim Koverman, of Anna, Ed and Annette Arkenberg, of Sidney, Jody and Ed Hartley, of Covington, David Arkenberg, of Fort Loramie and a sister-in-law, Pat Coll of Toledo; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; aunts and uncles, Bea Seaman, of Dayton, Marrietta Ritz, of Buffalo, NY, Florence and Bob Bruns, of St. Henry, Eugene and Dorothy Richard, of Versailles, and Ruth Richard, of Anna. He was preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Arkenberg. John was a 1979 graduate of Fort Loramie High School. He had been employed at The Dannon Company in Minster since 1981. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the Minster Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 1391, and Arrowhead Golf Club. An avid golfer, John also enjoyed Wednesday night league bowling, hunting and fishing. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with the Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice. COLUMBUS — Edward A. Bushman, age 78, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of New Bremen, died on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, in the early morning hours at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen with the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Close, Darrell - Sidney  
SIDNEY — Darrell Eugene Close, 58, of 119 W. Clay St, Sidney, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, at 11:06 a.m. at his residence. He was born on Feb. 14, 1957, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of Andrew Close of Sidney, and the late Arnie (Ross) Close. He is survived by two children, Daniel and Chris Close, one sister, Diana (Mark) Caulfield, and one brother, Marvin Close, all of Sidney. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Close. Mr. Close worked for 30 years at Copeland Corporation, and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sidney. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 5, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 300 W. Mason Road, Sidney, with Pastor Kenneth Castor officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney. Davidson, Arthur - Sidney  
SIDNEY — Arthur Davidson, 78, of Sidney, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his residence. He was born on Oct. 15, 1936, in Clairfield, Tennessee, the son of the late Frank and Esta (Loveday) Davidson. On June 15, 1957, he married his love, Jenett Jerry Jennings, who preceded him in death on May 17, 2012. Arthur is survived by his two children, Jane Davidson, of Sidney and James (Lynn) Davidson, of Piqua; five grandchildren, Amanda (George) Young, Nicholas (Amanda) Davidson, Amber Davidson, Tamara (T.J.) Turner and Misty (Jordan) Pullins; six great-grandchildren, Madison, Lakota, Adeline, Camron, Colin, Khloe and another great-grandchild due in April; five brothers, Earl (Sue) Davidson, Larry (Neda) Davidson, Danny (Kathy) Davidson, all of Troy, Tom (Sharon) Davidson, of Sidney, and Don (Joyce) Davidson, of Tennessee; and one sister, Shelby Nation, of Sidney. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Stafford. Mr. Davidson retired from Stolle Corporation on Jan. 4, 1999, after 46 years of service. He attended Full Gospel Community Church where he was a member for nearly 50 years. When the church was founded Arthur was the treasurer for almost 20 years. He enjoyed working around the house, painting and doing carpentry work. Arthur also enjoyed visiting family and friends but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching them grow. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at Full Gospel Community Church, 950 Childrens Home Road, Sidney, with Pastor Jeff Hill officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to Wilson Hospice or Full Gospel Community Church. Davis, Janet - Logan  
LOGAN — Janet S. Davis, 80, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at the Carlin House in Logan with her husband at her bedside. She was born Sept. 22, 1934, in Lima, daughter of the late Herbert and Frieda Soelmann. Janet was a dedicated and loving daughter, wife and mother. A 1952 graduate of Anna High School, she received the Bachelor of Science Degree in home economics education from the Ohio State University in 1956 and earned the Master of Education in home economics education in 1980 from Miami University of Ohio. She also did graduate work at the University of Georgia. Janet was a retired school teacher, having taught in Vinton County, Hamilton County and Butler County, Ohio. She was also the former county extension agent, home economics, in Miami County, Meigs County and Prince Georges County, Maryland. She volunteered several years as 4-H adviser in Vinton and Hamilton counties. Janet and her husband, Bob, lived in Tacoma Park, Maryland; McArthur, Ohio; and Cincinnati before returning to Vinton County to build and operate Country Pleasures Bed & Breakfast. She enjoyed being an innkeeper until her ill health forced them to close the B&B. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob Davis; daughter, Teresa (Todd) Bodey, of South Vienna; son, Mark (Rhonda) Davis; and granddaughter, Allison, of Columbus, Georgia. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Marjory Davis, of Logan, Marilyn (Dr. Robert) Jepsen, of Canal Winchester, and Mary Davis, of Lancaster; and brother-in-law Dr. James (Jan) Davis, of Brookville. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers-in-law Don Davis and Clark Davis. Janet was a member of the Hocking Hills United Methodist Church, past president, Alpha Gamma Delta, Alpha Lambda Chapter, life member of the Ohio State University, the Ohio State University Alumni Association; former member of the Ohio Bed & Breakfast Association, and the Hocking Hills Tourism Association. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 11 a.m., at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan with the Rev. Dr. Randy Hardman officiating. Burial will be in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge. Visitation will be observed Monday, March 2, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Janet's family sincerely thanks the entire staff at Carlin House and FairHoPe Hospice for the tender, loving care provided for Janet. NEW BREMEN — Shirley A. Dicke, 71, died on Feb. 27, 2015, at 10:41 a.m. at the Joint Twp. District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. A celebration of Shirley's life will take place on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen. Inurnment will take place at the Pilger Ruhe Cemetery of New Knoxville at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
