SIDNEY — Jim Davis, 89, of 827 Spruce Ave., passed away at 7:20 p.m. on April 18, 2014, at Fair Haven Nursing Home.
Jim was born on May 29, 1924, in Laurel Fork, Ky., to the late Tom Davis and Mary Ann (Lawson) Davis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erie (Daugherty) Davis. Jim was also preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
Surviving Jim is one daughter, Hazel and John Peralta, of Rose City, Mich.; one sister, Lily; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and also served during the Korean War. He had retired from the Copeland Corp. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Sidney. Jim loved being outdoors, enjoyed planting flowers and working in his garden. He had a lot of friends; he loved his family and will be deeply missed.
Services for Jim will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at 6 p.m., at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, with the Rev. Harold McKnight officiating.
Friends and family may gather from 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to services, at the funeral Home.
Graveside services will be Thursday, April 24, at 10 a.m., at Cadillac Memorial Gardens, East, Clinton Township, Mich., with full military services.
