Walter Hussey

SIDNEY — Walter C. Hussey, 88, 3003 W. Cisco Road, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. at Dorothy Love Retirement Community surrounded by his family.

He was born on Aug. 13, 1925, in Port Jefferson, Ohio, the son of the late Lawrence and Mildred (Evans) Hussey.

On July 22, 1945, he married Edith Littlefield, who survives along with one son, Mike Hussey and his wife, Melda, and one daugther, Mrs. Bradley (Connie) Comer, both of Sidney, Ohio; four grandchildren, Lori Allen, Mark Comer, Bridget McLain and Shawn Hussey; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Walter along with his wife formerly owned and operated Hussey's Restaurant for many years, which has become a landmark for Port Jefferson, Ohio. Mr. Hussey was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne Unit during the Battle Of The Buldge. Walter enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Sidney American Legion Post 217, VFW, Sidney Senior Center and Sidney First United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held for the public on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at Glen Cemetery with Chaplain Larry Oberdorf officiating. Military honor's will be presented by American Legion Post 217.

There will be no public calling hours held prior to the service.

The family suggest that memorials may be made to Wilson Memorial Hospice or Dorothy Love Life Care Fund in memory of Walter C. Hussey.
