SIDNEY — Rosalee Anna McGlinch, 84, of 3003 W. Cisco Road, Sidney, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, at 11:32 p.m. at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community.

She was born on April 15, 1930 in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Marguerite (Shade) Buirley. On May 20, 1950, she married Carl R. McGlinch, who preceded her in death April 10, 1994.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Diana (Eric) Nordstrom, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mrs. Carol (Michael) Fischbach, and Ms. Marguerite McGlinch, both of Sidney; four grandchildren, Philip Fischbach, Maria (Scott) Mertz, Derek Nordstrom and Barbara Nordstrom; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Kay Block.

Mrs. McGlinch was a 1948 graduate of Sidney High School. She worked as an operator for the telephone company, catalog sales for the former Sears in Sidney, and a cook for Wilson Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong Sidney resident, member of the First Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post 217 for over 40 years, where she filled every office except secretary, VFW Auxiliary and Elks Lodge 786.

Rose was a loving mother who was very devoted to her family. She loved singing, reading, playing cards and bingo, and traveling.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave, Sidney, with the Rev. Joe F. Pumphrey officiating. Burial will follow at Beechwood Cemetery in Lockington. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Sidney American Legion Auxiliary Post 217 will conduct a service at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.
