LAKEVIEW — Rolland Alvin Finley, 88, of Lakeview, died at 2:14 a.m. on Feb. 19, 2014, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Clay Township on Nov. 21, 1925, a son of the late J. Lester and Tressie (Metz) Finley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amarilla, whom he married on March 27, 1949.

Surviving is his son, Paul (Pam) Finley, of New Braunfels, Texas; and grandsons Jeff (Allison) Finley, of San Antonio, Texas, and Brett Finley, of New Braunfels, Texas. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jim Heininger,of Granville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In 1943, Rolland graduated from Blume High School in Wapakoneta. He was a retired farmer.

He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra where he had served the congregation in various roles over the years including financial secretary and deacon.

Pastor Shannon Vogelezang will conduct a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike Street, Jackson Center, Ohio, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
