PIQUA — Barbara Louise Trissel, age 80, of Piqua, went home to be with the Lord at 4:05 a.m. Saturday March 7, 2015, at Hospice of Miami County Inpatient Unit, Troy, Ohio.

She was born on July 6, 1934, in Pleasant Hill, Ohio, to the late Roy and Media (Wallace) Curtis. On March 4, 1949, in Celina, Ohio, she married Ronald Trissel, Sr. He survives.

Barbara is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Cheryl Trissel Jr., Piqua, Ohio, Larry Trissel, Brooklyn, New York, and Gary Trissel, Davidson, North Carolina; two daughters and son-in-law, Joyce and Bob Denman, Clarksville, Tennessee, and Tina Brideweser, Sidney, Ohio; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters.

Barbara attended Piqua City Schools. She was a member of the Piqua Church of the Nazarene. She worked at Container Corporation in Piqua for 14 years as a machinist. Barbara was a wonderful wife and loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She loved to spend as much time as she could with her grandchildren. She liked to go shopping and helped take care of many people by being a volunteer for Hospice of Miami County.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday March 11, 2015, at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, with Pastor Robert Denman and Pastor Lincoln Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
