OSGOOD — Bertha C. (Eilerman) Wenning, age 93, of North Street, Osgood, passed away of natural causes Monday evening, Aug. 17, 2015, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater, Ohio.

She was born March 1, 1922, in Fort Loramie, Ohio, to the late Anton and Elizabeth (Sommers) Eilerman. On Aug. 20, 1947, at the former St. Patrick Catholic Church in St. Patrick, Bertha married Harold L. Wenning, who preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 1982.

She is survived by nine children, Nick and Shirley Wenning, of Celina, David and Janet Wenning, of Greenville, Ginny and Randy Gerlach, of St. Henry, Sue and Terry Kremer, of Englewood, Nancy and Bill Link, of Fort Recovery, Mart and CC Wenning, of Burkettsville, Mary and BJ Mattingly, of St. Henry, Julie and Tom Kessen, of Carthagena, Joann and Randy Liette, of Chickasaw; 30 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; three brothers, John and Marie Eilerman, of Fort Loramie, Vernon and Vera Eilerman, of Minster, and Tony and Evelyn Eilerman, of Fort Loramie; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene and Clete Albers, of Ashland, and Alvin Spraley, of North Star.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings, Loretta and Ray Pleiman, Adolph and Verona Eilerman, Albert and Marie Eilerman, Paul and Vic Eilerman, Teckala and Urban Bergman, Verona and Ben Schemmel and Mary and Lawrence Kuether; brothers and sister-in-law, Arnold and Rita Wenning, Pauline and Elmer Vehorn, Dorothy and Ray Broerman, Mary and Virgil Thobe and Lucille and Bob Heinrichs.

A 1940 graduate of Fort Loramie High School, Bertha went on to study business for one year at Capital University in Columbus. Mrs. Wenning was a dedicated homemaker. She had been a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, St. Barbara's Ladies Sodality, the Maria Stein Shrine Prayer Guild and the Osgood Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Bertha enjoyed playing cards, gardening and entertaining her grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at St. Nicholas Church in Osgood with the Rev. David L. Zink presiding. Interment will follow at St. Martin Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 to 10 a.m. at Gehret Funeral Home, 64 Elm St. in Fort Loramie.
