Betty Betts

LIMA — Betty J. Betts, age 80, passed away Feb. 24, 2014, at 9:30 p.m. at the St. Rita's Medical Center.

Betty was born Oct. 1, 1933, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Gail F. and Helen (Williamson) Woolley Sr. who preceded her in death. She was previously married to William Betts, who preceded her in death.

Betty had worked as a busser with the Bob Evan's Restaurant until she retired. She had also previously worked with the Container Corp., Piqua. She was a longtime member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church, Lima. She had also been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 96. Betty loved to do word search, work on puzzles and reading. Above all else she truly loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by a son, Jeffery Alderton, of Lima; daughter, Karen (Anthony "Lee") Richards, of Fort Loramie,; brother, Gail F. (Grace) Woolley Jr., of Lima; sisters, Barbara Welch, of Lima, and Beverly Sakemiller, of Lima; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a close cousin, Carolynn Palin, of Lima.

She was preceded in death by a son, David Alderton, and three stepchildren.

There will be a memorial service at the Trinity Wesleyn Church, Lima, on Saturday,March 8, 2014, at noon with an hour of visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Eric Allen will be officiating the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the activities department at the Springview Manor.

Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services Eastside Chapel is in charge of the services.
