MILFORD - Betty Jane Elsass, 82, 22 McCormick Trails, and formally of Sidney, died at the Loveland Health Care Center in Loveland on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at 1:40 a.m.
She was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Sidney, the daughter of the late Charlie and Justina (Schmitmeyer) Nicholson.
She married Wilbur L. Elsass in 1947, and he died July 30, 1994.
Surviving are four children, Rebecca Profitt, and husband, Ray, of Kennesaw, Ga., Cynthia Bowersock, and husband, Steve, of Sidney, Jon Elsass, and wife, Pam, of Milford, and Ronald Elsass, and wife, Joyce, of Suwanee, Ga.; two sisters, Ruth Ann Larger, and husband, Gene, of Sidney, and Janet Carr, of St. Marys; three brothers, Vernon Nicholson, and wife, Violet, of Maplewood, Robert Nicholson, of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Thomas Nicholson, and wife, Evelyn, of Indio, Calif., 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Elsass had been employed at one time at Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney in the laundry department. She was a member of the Sidney American Legion and Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church by the Rev. Daniel Hess. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney.
Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, from 9 until 10:15 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels Grade School, 120 E. Water St., Sidney, OH 45365 or Wilson Hospice, 1083 Fairington Drive., Sidney, OH 45365. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
