Betty Kinninger (1931 - 2017)

BOTKINS — Betty Ann Kinninger, 86, of Botkins, died 2:25 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2017, at The Gardens of Wapakoneta.

She was born Feb. 3, 1931, in Botkins, the daughter of Clem and Frances (Kinstle) Steinke, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 21, 1950, she married W. James Kinninger, and he died Jan. 2, 2010.

Survivors include four children, Gary (Linda) Kinninger, Karen Rogers, Kevin Kinninger, all of Botkins, and Kathy (Curt) Waugh, Ypsilanti, Michigan; 13 grandchildren, Melissa Graham, Matthew Kinninger, Mason (Kolby) Kinninger, Jason (Angie) Rogers, Heather (Chuck) Buehler, Josh (Jordan) Rogers, Justin (Sherri) Rogers, Jim (Marie) Kinninger, September (R.J.) Quinn, Jennifer (Matt) Harris, Kreg Kinninger, Audrey Waugh and Vivian Waugh; 18 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paul Steinke, Botkins, and Jeanette (Frank) Thaman, Sidney, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Rick Rogers, four brothers Bernard, Robert, Leroy and infant Paul Steinke.

Betty was a 1949 graduate of Botkins Local High School, and owned and operated Kinninger's Restaurant for 37 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins. She was also a member of the Ladies Sodality and a Eucharistic minister. Betty was a devout catholic, attended Mass daily and faithfully participated in the Adoration Chapel. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and was a loyal friend to many. Her family truly believe they now have a "guardian angel" in heaven.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, with the Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial is to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins.

The family will receive friends 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave. (state Route 501) Wapakoneta.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation or St. Rita's Hospice.
