LAKEVIEW — Billie Louis Waller, 82, of Lakeview, Ohio, passed away Monday morning, Aug. 17, 2015, at his home.

Bill was born on March 10, 1933, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late George P. and Irene Frazier Waller. He married the former Dolores Marcum in 1953 and she preceded him in death in 1971. On Aug. 22, 1971, he married Rubie Capper and she preceded him in death in 2002. He is also preceded in death by five siblings, Jim, Paul, Tom and Vernon Waller and Wanda Jo Peters.

He is survived by six children, William M. (Ruby) Waller, of Dayton, Patrick C. (Annie) Waller, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Catherine T. (Wayne) Christian, of Willow Wood, Ohio, Delores R. Waller, of Dallas, Texas, Christopher L. (Robyne) Waller, of Lakeview, and Tammy K. (Joe) Capper-Patrick, of Vandalia, Ohio; two stepchildren, Roger D. Skaggs, of Springfield, Ohio, and Carolyn S. (David) Reynolds, of Chesapeake, Ohio; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren including, Starla Cates, Roger Skaggs, Jr., Gerri Lynn Dyer, Shane Michael Rice, Seth Christopher Rice, Caleb Johnston and Joshua Johnston; a sister, Jean Waller, of Kettering, Ohio; and a brother, Micky Waller, of Kettering.

He worked at Burnadale Gardens for 36 years before retiring. He also was a self-employed contractor. Bill was a Korean veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post 39 and Indian Lake Eagles Aeries 3615, both of Lakeview, and Frank D. Castle VFW Post 1080 in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, shooting pool, teaching his grandchildren how to work on cars and "drinking and club hopping."

Funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview with visitation from 10:30-12:30. Burial is in Forest Hills Cemetery, Tipp City, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton Children's Hospital, Attn: Development Office, One Children's Plaza, Dayton, OH 45404-1815.
