SIDNEY — Bruce W. Doak, 67, of Sidney, passed away, Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at 10:17 a.m., in his residence.

He was born July 17, 1949, in Sidney, the son of the late Leo and Charla (Holly) Doak.

Bruce is survived by his fiancee, Claudine Hawk; three children, Michael (Bonnie) Hutchison, of Huber Heights, David (Danielle) Hutchison, of Kettering, and Kimberly Hutchison, of Englewood; seven grandchildren; and seven siblings, Brenda (John) Elliott, Rebecca Fleming, Laura (David) Fleming, Larry Doak, Steven Doak, William (Kim) Doak and Joseph (Teresa) Doak, all of Sidney. He was preceded in death by one son, Jason Hutchison, and one brother-in-law, John Fleming.

Mr. Doak served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked as a police officer for the Sidney Police Department for 23 years. Bruce enjoyed taking walks in Tawawa Park, shooting guns and sharing the word.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, in Cromes Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave., Sidney, with the Rev. Tim Bartee officiating.

The family will receive friends, Monday, from 4 p.m. until hour of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Safety Town Children's Program in care of the Sidney Police Department, 234 W. Court St. Sidney, in memory of Bruce Doak. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made to the Doak family at the funeral home's website,
