JACKSON CENTER — Carlyn Joyce Hurley, 70, of Jackson Center, passed away Wednesday evening, June 22, 2016, at Wilson Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Muncie, Indiana, on April 26, 1946, to the late Noble W. and Opal L. (Vail) Leffew. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Roger and Roy Loggains.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Douglas E. Hurley ,of Jackson Center, whom she married on Aug. 8, 1970, at the Jackson Center Baptist Church. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Leffew, of Botkins, and Betty (Bill) Scoggins, of Wapakoneta; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was a 1965 graduate of Drew Central High School in Monticello, Arkansas. In 2002, she graduated from Edison State with an Associate of Applied Business in Commercial Art. Joyce had previously worked at Holloway Sports, Leader Sportswear, Monarch Machine & Tool and Yeasels. She enjoyed photography, reading and do-it-yourself crafts. Joyce was a life-member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Jackson Center, from noon to 2 p.m. Pastor David Sanders will officiate the funeral service on Monday, June 27, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pearl Cemetery, Swanders.
