AVON — Carol Marie Billing Korn, 85, of Avon, formerly of Anna, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015.

She was born Aug. 2, 1929, in Anna, the youngest of four children born to the late Emory and Marie (Woehrle) Billing.

She is survived by four children, Deborah (Paul) Peppel. of Jenison, Michigan, Randolph Korn, of Lakeview, Rebecca (James) Grossett, of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, and Kimberly (Patrick) McMorrow, of Avon; eight grandchildren, Samantha (Mike) Noorman, Drew Peppel, Patrick (Ashland) Korn, Elizabeth Grossett, Jacob Grossett, Taylor McMorrow, Cassandra McMorrow, Jacqueline McMorrow; and two great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her brother and two sisters.

Carol moved from Anna to Rochester, Michigan, in 1968. She had an antique business that kept her busy for many years. In 2001, she retired and moved to be closer to family, with homes in both Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, and Avon. She became an active member of the Senior Center in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and enjoyed playing poker with her friends. Carol was also an avid sports fan and especially loved baseball and cheering on her Detroit Tigers. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

While in Anna, Carol was a member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church. After moving to Michigan, she was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, in Rochester, for many years. She then attended both Christ the King Lutheran Church, in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westlake.
