SIDNEY — Carol F. Wick, 71, of Sidney, formerly of Piqua, died at 11:04 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at The Pavilion Care Center, Sidney.

She was born Aug. 10, 1945, in Crestline to the late Chester and Gladys (Beach) Fisher. She married James D. Wick on Aug. 3, 1974, in Crawford County, and he survives.

Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Janay (Ted) Michael, of Sidney; a stepson, Doug (Susan) Wick, of Troy; eight stepgrandchildren; two aunts, Eileen and Leona; four first cousins, Brenda, Barb, Terry and Sylvia; and a special friend, Sue Ann Penrod.

Mrs. Wick was a graduate of Crestline High School, earned her degree in education from Wittenberg University and her Masters Degree from the University of Dayton. Her notable career in education spanned 32 years with the Piqua City School District where she taught at Favorite Hill, Washington and Springcreek Schools. Additionally, she continued as a substitute teacher for numerous years following her initial retirement. She was passionate about and loved teaching children. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and enjoyed traveling and shopping. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.

A service to honor her life will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sidney, with the Rev. Jonathan Schriber officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, Piqua.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Piqua Education Foundation, 719 E. Ash St., Piqua, OH 45356 or St. John Lutheran Church, 120 W. Water St., Sidney, OH 45365.
