PIQUA — Dale E. Hall, 90, of Piqua, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at the VA Medical Center, Dayton.

He was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Oakland, Illinois, to the late Laurence Annin and Bessie Irene (Stewart) Hall. He married Harriet Elizabeth Sumner June 2, 1946, in Terre Haute, Indiana; she preceded him in death in 1959. He then married Mary Jane Weiskittel April 27, 1963, in Piqua; she preceded him in death Nov. 18, 1988.

Survivors include three daughters, Diana Kay (Frank) Russell, of Rochester, New York, Marcia (Doug) Kessler, of Greenwood, Indiana, and Carol Hall, of Napier, New Zealand; two sons, Barry Hall and Mark (Shirley) Hall, all of Piqua; and five grandchildren, Nathan Russell, Emily Russell, Elisabeth Kessler, Anna Kessler and Logan Hall.

He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen James Hall, four brothers and a sister.

Mr. Hall earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University. He was an agronomist and worked as the sales supervisor for Armco Quarry in Piqua until his retirement. He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran, having served during World War II. He was past president of the Processed Limestone Association and Ohio Soil Fertility Education Society. He served as past chairman of the Piqua Citizens Committee for Schools. He was a member of the Ohio Agricultural Council, the support committee of the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center and was awarded the Centennial Medal. He was a member of the Ohio Aggregates Association and was elected to the "Hall of Fame," and was awarded Distinguished Life Membership on Nov. 15, 2013. He was a past member of the Piqua Rotary Club, Greene Street United Methodist Church, Piqua VFW 4874, the National Limestone Institute, and the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Club.

Local visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, Piqua, Ohio. Visitation at Terre Haute will begin Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at noon at the Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Terre Haute, Indiana, with a service to honor his life at 1 p.m. with Carol D. Hall officiating.
