Darrell Johnson

JACKSON CENTER — Darrell Lynn Johnson was called home by his Heavenly Father on Oct. 13, 2015, at 11:02.

Darrell was a loving husband to Cynthia (Brenner) Johnson since Dec. 24, 1994, and a proud father to Ciara, 18, and Joshua, 13. Darrell was born in Lakeland, Florida, March 14, 1969. He joined the Army in November 1990. Darrell had a very accomplished military career and retired. He was employed at 780th MI BDE at Fort Meade, Maryland, after his retirement.

Darrell's family remains in Lakeland, Florida, and Cynthia's family resides in Ohio. He was the beloved son-in-law to Philip and Ellen Brenner and brother-in-law to Robin (Mike) Stafford, Jill (Earl) Ludwig, Melody (Ron) Schneider and Rita (Lanny) Metz. He has several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews who loved him and his adventure for life.

Darrell was an active member of the Arundel Christian Church in Glen Burnie, Maryland, and taught youth classes. Darrell was a basketball coach to his children's teams and spent time daily with his Bible to deepen his walk with the Lord. Darrell spent numerous hours volunteering at local events to help the needy. He was a servant to others and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Services for Darrell will be at Grace Lutheran Church, 607 S. Main St., Jackson Center, with calling hours on Tuesday, Oct. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. and funeral service, Wednesday, Oct 21. at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Fisher House Foundation, P.O. Box 97229, Washington, DC 20077-7804, to benefit military families.

A memorial service will be held in Maryland to celebrate his life, Saturday, Oct. 24, at 3 p.m. at Arundel Christian Church in Glen Burnie. A memorial service will be held at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Lakeland to honor his life.
