SIDNEY — Dean Weber Firman, 68, 1502 Cumberland Ave., Sidney, Ohio, passed away at the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio on Friday, June 17, 2016, at 4:54 p.m. of cancer.

He was born April 15, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Arthur and Marjorie (Whited) Firman and they are deceased.

He was married to Jennifer Jones on April 15, 1972, and she survives along with three children, Emily Marie Clegg and husband, Stephen, of Columbus, Ohio, Nathan M. Firman, of Columbus, Ohio, and Matthew W. Firman, of Troy, Ohio; one brother, Terry Firman and wife, Barbara, of Manchester, Tennessee; and four grandchildren, Brianna N. Firman, Hannah N. Firman, Claire M. Clegg and Carter J. Clegg.

Two brothers, Ronald Firman and Jack Firman are deceased.

Mr. Firman attended Texas A and M for agriculture. He was a United States Air Force veteran. He was retired from the United States Department of Agriculture as a federal meat and poultry inspector. He was the past local president of the National Joint Council of Food Inspection Locals.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Amberger. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Sidney.

Friends may call at Salm-McGill and Tangeman Funeral Home, Sidney, Ohio, on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Firman was a great man, a proud veteran, a Mopar aficionado, a great outdoorsman, most of all he was one of the biggest hearted people around.
