SIDNEY — Deborah K. Mitchell, 55, of Sidney, passed away unexpectedly at her residence Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at 10:45 a.m.

She was born on Feb. 11, 1959, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph F. and JoAnn (Zwiesler) Gates.

On August 6, 1984, she married Mark Mitchell, who survives along with two sons, Matt (Monica) Mitchell and Chad (Tisha) Mitchell; two grandchildren, Ian and Erik Mitchell; five siblings, Andy (Tonia) Gates, Dave (Ellen) Gates, Mark Gates, Brian (Karen) Gates and Lori (Jim) Crawford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mitchell worked for Sidney High School for more than 10 years, where she served as a multiple disabilities aide. Deborah loved her job, which was evident by her smile, laughter and uplifting spirit that touched hundreds of kids at the high school every year. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Deborah was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. It is hard to put into words all of the reasons she will be so greatly missed. She will always be remembered for her hugs, her smile and warm affection towards others.
