PIQUA — Dennis Ray Martin Jr., age 34, of Piqua, Ohio, died on Monday, July 14, 2014, at Mason, Ohio.

He was born in Sidney, Ohio, on June 17, 1980, to the Rev. Dennis Ray Martin Sr., of Greenville, and the late Terri (Young) Martin. He is also survived by his stepmother, Connie Martin, of Greenville, Ohio.

Dennis is survived by his fiancé, Nina Scherer, Piqua, Ohio; two sons, Isaiah Martin, Piqua, Ohio, and Cameron Martin, Piqua, Ohio; three daughters, Jasmine Martin, Dayton, Ohio, Destyni Scherer, Piqua, Ohio, and Raeleigh Martin, Piqua, Ohio; one sister, Tasha Phillips, Piqua, Ohio; one niece, Alexis Phillips and one nephew, Zachariah Phillips; two grandparents, Leonard and Dolly Young, Sidney, Ohio, and Pearl Martin, Sidney, Ohio; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by one grandfather, Ed Martin; and two uncles, Eddie Martin and Dale Estes.

Dennis attended Sidney Schools. He attended Crossroads Church of God in Piqua. Dennis loved his dogs, Boozie and Wiz. He loved to play cards, video games and corn hole. He was an avid Indiana Colts fan and a fan of Peyton Manning. He was also a fan of the Cincinnati Reds. He loved his family, loved to dress to impress and loved his shoe collection.

Dennis worked as a car detailer for many years and a dog breeder for several years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, with Pastor Jerry Wilson and Pastor David Grise officiating. Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens, Sidney, Ohio.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua. After the funeral, the family invites you to join them for dinner at Houston Community Center, Houston, Ohio.
