Elfrieda E. Borchers

RUSSIA - Elfrieda E. Borchers, 98, of Russia, died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Versailles Health Care.
She was born Jan. 1, 1915, in Russia, the daughter of the late Leo and Margaret (Marchal) Voisard.
She married Urban F. Borchers Oct. 30, 1937, and he preceded her in death Feb. 15, 2008.
She is survived by her children, Ed and Merilyn Borchers, of Russia, Erna and Charles Voisard, of Russia, Carolyn and Emmett Joseph, of Beavercreek, Joan and John Glaser, of Beavercreek, Jerry and Susan Borchers, of Russia, Judie and Ron Stauffer, of Versailles, Don and Treva Borchers, of Russia and Greg and Carol Borchers, of Russia; 31 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include a sister, Sister Carmen Voisard, C.PP.S., Dayton.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, brothers and sisters, Mildred Moorman, Joseph Voisard, Sister Yvonne Voisard, Cecelia Borchers, Sister Mary Louise Voisard and Raymond Voisard.
She was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, the St. Anne's Rosary Alter Sodality and the C.L. of C., Russia. She also volunteered at Maria Stein Retreat House, Piqua Rehabilitation Center and was a Grey Lady at Piqua Hospital. She was a farmer's wife and a homemaker.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Remy Catholic Church by the Rev. Frank Amberger. Burial will take place in St. Remy Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Russia from 1:30 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Glen Mary Home Missions and Spiritual Center of Maria Stein.
