MINSTER — Elizabeth "Betty" (Bensman) Wehrman, age 84, passed away of natural causes Saturday afternoon, Dec. 5, 2015, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster, Ohio. She had been a resident there since June; previously she lived at Elmwood in New Bremen for five years and home had been on Lane Street in Fort Loramie.

She was born April 2, 1931, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Leonard and Verona (Meyer) Bensman. On Dec. 27, 1952, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in McCartyville, Elizabeth married Donald Wehrman, who preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 2009.

Surviving are four children, Jeanne and V. Glen Barhorst, of Anna, Kaye Anne and Mark Dietz, of Botkins, Gerald and Amanda Wehrman, of Fort Loramie, and Daniel and Ellen Wehrman, of Fort Loramie; 10 grandchildren, Nathan, Amy, and Craig (Lindsay) Barhorst, Brian (Rachel) Dietz, and Brittany (Brad) Coy, Danielle, Drew, Devin, Grace and Aiden Wehrman; four great-grandchildren, Lane and Adilyn Dietz, Elizabeth and Samuel Barhorst; six siblings, Ruth Ann Meyer, of Sidney, Leonard and Connie Bensman, of Sidney, Rev. Gerald Bensman of West Milton, Margie and Robert Zwiesler of Wichita, KS, John & Jan Bensman of Anna, and Patricia and Peter Cook, of Andrews, North Carolina; sisters, Wilma Bensman, of Sidney, and Virginia Wehrman, of Marionette, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by three siblings, Mary Lou and Brad Thornton, Virgil A. and Eugene Bensman, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence Meyer, Brad Thornton, Robert and Hilda, Ralph, Carl and Kathleen Wehrman, and Dorothy and Forest Grillot.

Mrs. Wehrman retired from the Regal Trophy & Awards Co. in Sidney where she had been part owner with her family. Previously, she had been employed at First National Bank at Sidney and Winners Bank of Dayton. Elizabeth was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of St. Ann's Rosary Alter Society, Minster Eagles Auxiliary, and the Fort Loramie American Legion Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed flower gardening, bowling, golf and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with the Rev. Gerald E. Bensman, celebrant and the Rev. Steven Shoup, concelebrant. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 9 to 10 a.m. at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
